Motorsport has always been a thrilling part of Surrey Thomas' adventures, combining technical skills, teamwork, and the excitement of competition. As proud participants in events like Mudbash, the iconic Rover event, we showcase our ingenuity and driving talent on the track. A 1986 Holden VL Commodore named "Loose Cannon" is our current rally car, donated to the crew by an ex-rover and maintained by each generation of rovers. Fortunately our members aren't afraid to get our hands dirty, because we learned that the more fun we have driving, the more time we spend fixing. The great thing about the unit is that even if you're not massively interested in motorsport, or you're worried you don't know enough, Surrey is full of inviting rovers that are happy to help you learn about cars, or sit on the sidelines and have fun watching with friends. Our involvement also extends beyond our own racing, as we contribute to the broader scouting movement within motorsport. At events like Top Gear Scout, we’ve had the privilege of teaching and inspiring Scouts and Venturers, helping them develop confidence and skills in motorsport. Whether we’re racing, mentoring, or building, we’re committed to getting outdoors and having fun!
